What did you do this past week?

This week I looked into writing some better frontend tests, did some research on how to get the filtering, searching, and sorting done, and tried to make a plan for working out all the phase 2 kinks and getting phase 3 done. I also spent a lot of time on projects and exams for other classes.

What’s in your way?

With the distraction of Halloween and my other projects, I didn’t have time to implement much for the website. I also found the material from class this week a little harder than previous weeks, so I spent more time reviewing than usual.

What will you do next week?

I’m planning on spending the next 3 days wildly adding things to our website and trying to get everything cleaned up before submission time. After that I’m hoping to get a better head start on the next phase so we don’t have to do everything at the last second again.

What was your experience of instance methods, class methods, static methods, regular expressions, and relational algebra? (this question will vary, week to week)

Instance methods and class methods, and static methods were pretty easy to grasp as the concepts weren't too far out from what I expected them to be. Regular expressions were pretty confusing during class, and I didn’t really understand it until we went over the quix questions in class on Friday. Now they are also straightforward! Relational algebra makes sense so far, hopefully it doesn’t get complicated!

What made you happy this week?

One of my friends who stayed home this semester came to visit this weekend, and we had a lot of fun catching up!

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Go outside every once in a while! We’ve been getting some really pretty days and stuff always seems rougher when you’ve been inside grinding for days on end. It’s important to make up for the times we used to spend walking to class and taking breaks, as it’s more important to our mental health and well being than it seemed.
